Livable Communities Coalition, at the request of the County Commissioners
Alex Garvin & Associates conducted a master planning and public participation process for approximately 700 acres in DeKalb County, Georgia. This area, originally built up as an auto-oriented suburb, is now being considered by several developers for large redevelopment projects. The two county commissioners asked Alex Garvin & Associates to study the area and create a master plan with recommendations for public realm improvements to shape future redevelopment. The master plan was developed over a six-month period, and involved consultation with stakeholders, county officials, and community leaders, as well as a series of monthly public meetings.
